Theme

Switch between standard and high-contrast variants in either dark or light mode. High-contrast modes raise foreground/background ratios past WCAG AAA for readers with low vision or sensitivity to subtle tones.

The compact toggle in the top bar does the same thing — this control mirrors it with a clearer affordance.

Color vision

I try my best to make sure nothing on this site relies on color alone. Links in articles are underlined, and the selected option in each control is marked by more than color: a filled dot, a pressed key, or a lit bar. That holds in all four themes, so there is no separate color-blind mode to switch on.

I check this with Chrome's color-blindness simulation, covering red-green and blue-yellow color blindness and no color vision at all. Last checked September 2026.

Reading size

Scale all text on the site up or down.

Line spacing

Adjust the space between lines of text. Looser spacing can help dyslexic and ADHD readers.

About these preferences

Your selections are stored in your browser under obs-font, obs-theme, obs-reading-size, and obs-leading. They're never transmitted to my server and aren't used for analytics. Clearing site data in your browser removes them.
